The Inter Church Committee (ICC) is a body under South Sudan Council of Churches that is formed by the member Churches under the umbrella of South Sudan Council of Churches as a fellowship body at different grassroots levels covering specific geographical areas in South Sudan.
In this regard most of the programs done by South Sudan Council of Churches are implemented by the Inter Church Committee (ICC) at regional levels that Liaise with the Regional offices, meanwhile, SSCC secretariat renders assistance, monitoring and support via regional offices.
As a result, on the 26th/April/2021, South Sudan Council of Churches in partnership with Pax For Peace South Sudan, formed and trained the newly elected members of the Inter Church Committee in Bentui on Advocacy and community engagement in peace building with a main objective of encouraging the members to contribute effectively in community engagement as a means of peace building within the communities under the mother project, Action Plan for Peace (APP).
During the training members acknowledged several challenges that include among others, the disunity among communities within Bentiue that has continuously created rift and attacks within the people in the town thus hindering peace initiatives by the Inter Church Committees on the ground and recommended continuous support from South Sudan Council of Churches and its partners in order to achieve everlasting peace that will restore hope and soften the hearts of people s in Bentiu, Upper Nile Region in general
