Peace is possible in South Sudan. It is about the will to bring all conflicts to an end and look at
building the country’s future. For a country that has been through a series of calamities, it is
time to focus on reconstructing what has been destroyed. At the inception of the Revitalized
Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS), the assumption was that
by the end of this transition, total peace would have been restored in the country, the internally
displaced people resettled, the refugees returned home, and the permanent constitution developed
and adopted, culminating in elections to usher the country to usual and normal governance.
